Last week, we did a story on the increasing state of tourism to Williamson County. But while we pointed out that more than $400 million each year is spent here from tourists, we did not talk about where they spend it.

With some help from VisitFranklin.com, here is a list of what they say are the top five attractions to tourists of Williamson County.

“In some way, almost every visitor is looking to experience Franklin’s sound (music), it’s spirit (history) or its vibe (true southern experience). The places on this list all fall into those categories and are ones we hear and see people coming to over and over,” said Matt Maxley, with VisitFranklin.

1. Main Street- Franklin

“Main Street is the number one biggest thing we know people come here for,” said Ellie Chin, CEO of VisitFranklin.

The shops, restaurants and experience of walking, shopping and visiting downtown Franklin- and Main Street- is what the area is known for.
